How to Layer for Weather in Arizona

Layer for Weather in AZ

Backpacking Classes

During the beautiful fall months in Arizona weather can be unpredictable. Days are warm, nights can be cold and breezes and rain can come out of seemingly nowhere fast. Taking a layer or 2 can make all the difference for a safe and enjoyable hike. Consider that most hypothermia happens above 40 degrees Fahrenheit because people are not prepared when the weather is so nice.

For multi-function, it’s hard to beat a light hooded rain jacket that rolls up small for your pack. If you are doing overnight backpacking a few more lightweight options can keep you cozy for any weather. Take the basics and check the weather reports so you are prepared.
