This workshop covers the essentials for safe, fun desert hiking adventure.
The Sonoran Desrt is an extraordinary place with beautiful views and rugged terrain. The extreme environent offers unique challenges to hikers that are often overlooked. You will learn the safe practices and techniques to avoid the most common hazzards as well
You will learn:
WHERE: The Outdoor Classroom behind The Arizona Hiking Shack 3244 E. Thomas Rd. Phx
WHO: Beginners to Intermediate. Ages 18 & up. (12 yrs & up with Gaurdian) Limit 9 participants. Hikers, campers, backpackers, anglers, off-roaders, paddlers, climbers, preppers, and all interested.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS WORKSHOP IS OUTSIDE. COME PREPARED TO WORK IN THE DIRT & SUN. A bottle of water and appropriate clothing is highly reccomended.
WORKSHOP SIZE: is kept small (9 attendees) to facilitate questions and individual attention.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Jonathan Mincks – Wilderness Skills & Safety Instructor
Mincks is a boondocks scholar who has been exploring the backcountry since in diapers. His life-long study and engagement in wilderness skills and emergency response has earned him multiple credentials in; Advanced Wilderness First Aid, CPR, Natural Medicine, Wilderness Survival, Desert Survival, Paddling Specialist and Outfitting.
His approach to teaching is renowned for being practical, thorough, inspiring and current. His attention to detail and current "hacks" has garnered him acclaim from new enthusiasts and seasoned professionals alike.
