Learn the techniques and paddling basics that make kayaking easy. From where to go to what a drip-ring is, this class covers the essential knowledge and simple techniques for recreational kakaying. Whether you're fishing, kayakpacking or adventuring, you'll get in the water with the know-how you need for safe fun paddling.


Kayaking is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and is not difficult but there a few things to know to make the most of it. Where to go, paddling techniques and self rescue on the water are just a few of the things covered in this comprehensive class. For a weekend rental or if you're just beginning as a paddle enthusiast, this class gets you on the water with confidence.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Jonathan Mincks – Wilderness Skills & Safety Instructor

Mincks is a boondocks scholar who has been exploring the backcountry since in diapers. His life-long study and engagement in wilderness skills and emergency response has earned him multiple credentials in; Advanced Wilderness First Aid, CPR, Natural Medicine, Wilderness Survival, Desert Survival, Paddling Specialist and Outfitting.

His approach to teaching is renowned for being practical, thorough, inspiring and current.  His attention to detail and current "hacks" has garnered him acclaim from new enthusiasts and seasoned professionals alike.
